Writer’s block is what happens to writers when they cannot think of what to write. They are unable to write. Something is blocking them from writing. Some varieties of writer’s block are short-term, while some writer’s blocks can be longer. Writer’s block can be related to an actual writing project. Maybe the writer needs inspiration, the writing project was not a good idea, or the project is just too difficult for the writer. Writer’s block can be unrelated to the actual writing project, coming from problems in the writer’s personal life: financial problems, illness, or relationships with people. Microsoft Word and PDF have been the de-facto standard for years now. So an easy way to eliminate paper is to start keeping Word documents or better yet PDF versions of all your paper items. Open Office.org and Apple’s OS come with the ability to print any document to pdf. Microsoft has a free “Save as pdf” plugin for download from their website. You might make the first part of your title, “Home Business Tips.” This tells the reader that the article they’re about to read will have something to do with running a home business. The second part of the title might be something like, “How To Get Organized.” This tells the reader that the tips specifically deal with organization.
Spending time in nature is another excellent way to relieve stress. A good brisk walk can clear your head. If you are fortunate enough to live near an ocean, a walk along the ocean can be both calming and rejuvenating because of the motion and sounds of the water. A walk in a park surrounded by the sight and smell of grass, trees and flowers and the presence of animals common to this environment can be very renewing and inspirational.
As a freelance writer you have taken the responsibility of running your economic life and professional growth. Once you set your writer’s mission, don’t allow anyone or anything to deter you from it. Be confident in who you are as a writer, and allow your passion for the craft to direct you. Your writer’s mission will set the tone for all that you do; it’s your foundation. With a solid foundation, you’re able to build your career as a writer with integrity and intelligence. You can’t go wrong with that.
